Fifty years on from Scotland’s first National Landscape Policy Conference, this event offers one of the most significant opportunities in the forthcoming national agenda to review progress, introduce new perspectives over the next fifty years and debate how best to manage future change in Scotland’s landscapes. WJ Cairns was responsible for organising both the first National Landscape Policy Conference as well as the 50th anniversary event in 2013.

ePUBLICATION: Offshore Oil and Gas Operations Industry Principles and Practice for EHS Performance Management

The International Centre for Oil and the Environment (ICOE), with the involvement of Cairns ICL, has embarked on a major project to produce the authoritative handbook on EHS Good Practice based on North Sea and North East Atlantic. We plan to capture the knowledge and experience built up since the Piper Alpha North Sea disaster in 1987. This shall be delivered in the form of an e-book which shall form a dynamic updatable reference source. This will be made widely accessible through an e-platform which shall provide an industry specific interactive and accelerated ‘know-how’ exchange service. This EHS initiative has been triggered by the Macondo disaster in 2010 from which far reaching global realignment of industry EHS performance has emanated and is on-going. The Microsoft Share Point 2013 platform has been adopted to facilitate effective interaction by all participants.

WJ Cairns is delighted to announce the re-launching of the Cairns practice which has largely remained dormant over the past 5 years due to the overwhelming responsibility taken on by he and his team from ICOE Research Ltd in the research and production of the world-class digital publication on Environment, Health and Safety Performance Management for the Ofshore Oil and Gas industry.
